Conditions for admission to master's and doctoral studies

 

Admission of persons to the magistracy, doctoral studies of the OHPE (organization of higher and postgraduate education) is carried out on a competitive basis based on the results of complex testing (CT) or entrance exams.

MASTER’S Degree

 

Acceptance of applications entering the Master’s degree at the OHPE is carried out by the selection committees of the OHPE within the following terms:

1) from June 1 to July 15 of a calendar year;

2) from 5 to 18 November of the calendar year.

Creative exams for applicants to the master’s are held at the OHPE in the following terms:

1) from 16 to 25 July of a calendar year;

2) from 13 to 15 December of the calendar year.

 

Persons entering the master’s in the period from August 25 to August 28 of the calendar year provide the following package of documents to the OHPE or through the e-government web portal www.egov.kz (portal):

1) an application addressed to the head of the OHPE;

2) document of higher education (original);

3 ) an identity document;

4) six photos 3x4 cm;

5) medical certificate in the form 075 / y ;

6) a certificate confirming knowledge of a foreign language:

English language : IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System Academic), threshold score is not less than 6.0 ;

TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test), threshold score is not less than 60 ;

TOEFL PBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Paper-based test), threshold score is not less than 498 ;

Deutsch language : Deutsche Sprachpru e fung fu e r den Hochschulzugang (DSH, Niveau C 1/ level C1 ), TestDaF-Prufung (NiveauC1/ level C1 );

French language : TFI (Test de Fran for ais International ™) - not below level At 1 on sections reading and listening , DELF ( Diplome d'Etudes en Langue fran з aise ) – level B2 , DALF ( Diplome Approfondi de Langue fran for aise ) - level C1, TCF (Test de connaissance du fran for ais ) - not less than 50 points .

7) a document confirming labor activity (for persons with seniority);

8) a list of scientific and scientific-methodical works (if any).

 

Entry exams

CT includes:

1) for applicants to the scientific and pedagogical magistracy: a test in a foreign language, a test according to the profile of a group of educational programs and a test to determine readiness for learning;

2) for applicants to a specialized master's program: a test according to the profile of a group of educational programs and a test to determine readiness for training;

3) for applicants to a specialized master's program with English as the language of instruction: a test according to the profile of a group of educational programs in English and a test to determine readiness for training in Kazakh or Russian or English (optional);

4) for those entering the master’s in groups of educational programs that require creative preparation: a test in a foreign language (optionally English, German, French), a test to determine readiness for learning;

CT is carried out by the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NTC) at the points for conducting CT, determined by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MES RK).

Based on the results of CT, an electronic certificate is issued, which is confirmed on the website of the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Retaking the entrance (creative) exams and CT in the year they were passed is not allowed.

Creative exams on the profile of groups of educational programs that require creative training are held at the OHPE, in which the applicant enters.

 

In the presence of an international certificate ( TOEFL , IELTS ) with the required scores, the applicant is exempted from the foreign language test CT.

 

Terms of study:

1. Scientific and pedagogical direction - 2 years;

2. Profile direction - 1 year.

DOCTORAL STUDY

 

Acceptance of applications for doctoral studies at the OHPE is carried out by the admission committees of the OHPE and (or) through the information system of the NTC in the following terms:

1) from July 3 to August 3 of a calendar year;

2) from 5 to 18 November of the calendar year.

Entrance examinations for groups of educational programs for doctoral studies are held at the following dates:

1) from 4 to 20 August of the calendar year;

2) from November 19 to December 11 calendar year in computer format at regional testing centers .

The date and time, the place of passing the entrance exam are brought to the attention of applicants through a personal account.

4 hours (240 minutes) are allotted for the entrance examination to doctoral studies, of which:

- for the test to determine the readiness to study in doctoral studies - 50 minutes;

- for writing essays and answers to examination questions on the profile of the group of the educational program - 190 minutes (3 hours 10 minutes).

To start the entrance exam in computer format, the applicant must:

1) specify a login;

2) specify a password;

3)       log in through the scanner of the volumetric-spatial form of a person's face;

4) get acquainted with the rules for conducting an entrance examination for doctoral studies in a computer format;

5) confirm the correctness of the data on the entrance examination;

6) after pressing the "Login" button, proceed to the entrance exam.

Enrollment in master's and doctoral studies is carried out in the following terms:

1) from 15 to 28 August of the calendar year;

2) from December 26 to January 10 of the calendar year .

 

Persons entering doctoral studies submit the following package of documents:

1) an application in any form;

2) document on education (original);

3) an identity document;

4) a certificate confirming knowledge of a foreign language:

English language : IELTS Academic (International English Language Testing System Academic) threshold score is not less than 5.5 ;

TOEFL IBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-based test), threshold score is not less than 46 ;

TOEFL PBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Paper-based test), threshold score is not less than 453 ;

TOEFL ITP (Test of English as a Foreign Language Institutional Testing Program ), threshold score is not less than 460 ;

Deutsch language : Deutsche Sprachpru e fung fu e r den Hochschulzugang (DSH, Niveau B 2/ level B 2 ), TestDaF-Prufung ( Niveau B 2/ level B 2 );

French language : TFI (Test de Fran for ais International ™) – not below level At 2 on sections reading and listening comprehension ), DELF ( Diplome d'Etudes en Langue fran з aise ) – level B2 , DALF ( Diplome Approfondi de Langue fran з aise ) - level B 2 , TCF (Test de connaissance du fran for ais ) - not less than 50 points ;

5) a medical certificate in the form 075 / y in electronic format, approved by order No. Қ R DSM-175/2020.

6) six photographs 3x4 cm in size;

7) a personal sheet on personnel records or other document confirming labor activity, certified by the personnel department at the place of work;

8) a list of scientific and scientific-methodical works (scientific publications, research plan, essays and other documents) for the last 3 calendar years.

The documents listed in subparagraphs 4) and 7) are provided in originals and copies, after verification of which the originals are returned to the applicant.

Persons with a certificate (TOEFL ITP ( Test of English as a foreign language Institutional testing Program ) take an additional English proficiency test before the start of the doctoral entrance examination.

The passing score for admission under the state educational order and on a paid basis is 75 points .

Additional testing for knowledge of the English language is carried out by the NTC in organizations determined by the authorized body in the field of education.

The date, time and place of passing additional testing for knowledge of the English language are brought to the attention of applicants through their personal account.
